UK Car Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello and thank you for choosing Just Answer. When you attempt to jump a car and connect the wrong terminals a number of issues can occur. Primarily the main fuses that provide power to the starter and fuel pump. Locate your fuse panel under the hood and check if any main fuses are blown. These will be higher amperage fuses 50 amp, 60 amp + etc.
Secondly, the temp gauge may have shorted when you attempted to jump the car. In this case either the sensor is faulty or the ECU ( engine computer) may have shorted during your attempt to jump.
