Customer Question

Hi there. I have a mini Cooper s 2006 model. It suddenly stopped going in to gear. Had a burning smell and is making a funny noise which is louder when you put the clutch in. What could the problem be?
JA: Has the clutch been slipping? Are you having any trouble shifting?
Customer: The clutch was completely fine as far as I knew until this happened. Now it iseems not even drivable will not go in to gear at all.
JA: Are you fixing your MINI yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Have not tried anything as yet. Still hoping to get some idea of what the problem May be.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Hi im kevin it sounds like the clutch release bearing has failed causing you to have no movement .this in turn will damage clutch causing the burning smell.clutch will need to be replaced to cure
