Customer Question

JA: Hi. What seems to be the problem?
Customer: I have been having problems with my X Type 2.1 V6. There was an issue within the fuel system. I replaced the pump and the filter and that was fine for a while. Now, however, I am having an intermittent fault code (P1314) appear and a constant fault code (P1000) indicated all the time. Attempting to erase does not work.
JA: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: Maybe using a little more gas than before. Now that I have replaced the pump/filter, it starts fine
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: Jaguar X-Type 2.1 V6 2003
JA: What year is your X-Type?
Customer: 2003
JA: Are you fixing your X-Type yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I am fixing myself. As I said, I have replaced the pump and filter.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: There is an intermittent misfire. Happens occasionally. Okay, thanks

Is the engine misfiring or hesitating? Does the engine light come on solid or blink?
