Hi,
JA: Hello. What seems to be the problem?
Customer: I have vw1600 twin port motor which i want to replace the old distributor with a new Bruck electronic unit, only problem it has three wires coming out the unit a black neg marked , a green marked buy only a 0 symbol and a red positive marked wire. Where does the green wire go?
JA: Have you checked all the fuses? Do you have a wiring diagram?
Customer: No too both, i have a white positive wire to my coil + and two wires from there to carb choke and electronic jet. one wire from my condensor to neg and one other wire to to theneg of the condenser
JA: What is the model/year of your VW?
Customer: 79 which has been converted into a trike
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes was running fine with an occasional slight miss, my old distributor shaft is worn
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: yes this new distributor still has a advance / retard unit but no condensor, where does the third wire marked with symbol 0 connect to

Hello, Welcome to Just Answer.

The green wire connect to the terminal marked no:1 on the ignition coil.

The other wire red wire go to the positive or no: 15 on the ignition coil .

The black wire must be grounded to the engine.
