Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

There are many things that can cause idle issues. It could be an issue with the throttle body itself or the engine may be running poorly for whatever reason. You could have an ignition system concern, poor fuel quality, incorrect cam timing; there are very many possible causes for a poor idle.

The first step in diagnosing the problem will be to use a scan tool or code reader to see if any fault codes are setting. Have you checked for codes?

Hi, had my car in at the local garage today. They have cleaned out the throttle body. They have had it on their code reader and say there is no fault codes. As its only an intermittent fault i'll see if it happens again. It only happens on start up, never when i,m on the move.
