Hello and welcome to JustAnswer! If you aren't seeing the immobilizer light staying on or flashing when it doesn't start then there isn't a reason to suspect an immobilizer issue. There are quite a few things that can prevent starter engagement including the ignition switch, wiring, the transmission range sensor or clutch switch depending on what transmission you have, the starter relay or even the engine controller itself may not be awake due to an internal failure or loss of power or ground. The most likely cause would be the starter. It isn't uncommon for starters to fail and cause problems when hot. The first thing that should be done is check for power on the solenoid wire at the starter while the key is held in the crank position when it won't crank. If there is power then the positive cable should be tested as well as the engine ground, if ok then the starter can be condemned.
