Vehicle: 2014 Boxer 2.2HDi 130
Symptom: Inconsistent starting, hot or cold. If fuel tank reading less than 1/2 full engine will fire up ok, run for a few seconds then cut out. Then very difficult to restart. Usually ok when tank full or near full. Once running no problem experienced. No EML, no loss of power.
Diagnostic code read = P1199 Fuel level input circuit low.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

The P1190 is being set either by a failed fuel level sending unit or a wiring issue between the sender and ECM, most likely the issue is the sender itself

The starting issue is being caused by an issue in the tank if you can tie the problem to fuel level. What's happening is the inlet filter on the pickup in the tank is restricted so it's causing a fuel starvation when the level is low. When fuel level is above about half a tank then fuel will fall over the sides of the reservoir and into the pickup rather than having to be drawn through the filter, which is why it starts ok when fuel level is high.
