Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

It shouldn't be difficult to repair the issue.

Whether you're seeing a warning message for the park assist system or it constantly goes off when the transmission is in reverse you most likely have a failed sensor. possible causes for a warning and the system not working would be the module, wiring, and the sensors. If it sounds off as if something was near when there really isn't anything behind then it's going to be a failed sensor.

A scan tool will need to be used to see what fault codes are setting. If no codes are setting then the signal from each sensor can be looked at to determine which is causing the issue, if the problem is the system showing an object when there isn't one.
