Citroen: We bought a 2006 Citroen Picasso 1.6HDI 110 last

Customer Question

We bought a 2006 Citroen Picasso 1.6HDI 110 last weekend. My wife has driven it to Paris, and when trying to restart 5 mins after stopping it turned over but wouldn't start and needed bumping. Any thoughts?

Key question is whether there are any tools or parts it would be sensible for me to take with me tomorrow when I fly out. Car has just been serviced by garage we bought it off but I don't know how well so may just be oil and filter

Hello and Welcome! I'm Billy and i will assist you with your inquiry. Feel free to ask if any further info is needed.
My apologies for the delay, thank you for your patience.
Engine oil and filter might need replacing, but they would not cause this.
The most likely reason would be a camshaft position sensor.
However this requires further checking to confirm.
Does the engine start well now? or everytime it cranks it does not start?
do you have any warning lights or messages on dash?
PS: there is nothing you can take with you apart from a small tool set, and a multimeter, in case we need to check a few parts, but mostly this requires checking using a diagnostics computer, to retrieve the fault codes...
And was the diesel filter replaced while the vehicle was being serviced?

Billy
