My name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here.
This indicates the 4wd system isn't able to complete the 4wd shift properly. This is commonly due to a faulty shift actuator on the transfer case itself needing replaced.I have seen this actuator fail before on several models in the past and had to replace it.
The first thing that needs to be done here is to have the fault codes checked/read out with a scan tool that can read all computers to see what codes are set.Once this has been done any codes set will need diagnosed to locate and repair the fault here.
I suspect the transfer case actuator at fault or a mechanical fault in the transfer case itself with it needing repaired or replaced.
Thanks Pete
