Volvo XC90: Edward, my 2004 XC90 just started playing up.

Customer Question

Edward, my 2004 XC90 just started playing up. First was the "anti-skid service required" but no other warning lights or performance issues. Then suddenly the brake warning/ABS light (and odometer not recording + trip counter to "-----"). Also a strange knocking sound left front when pressing the brake pedal, which in Park I can feel slightly through the gear stick. I should add that the "Cruise Control" lamp was on while all this was happening. Not sure why the cruise control engaged itself with all the other lamp issues and I could not disengage the cruise control. No other drive issues or limp mode. Someone has told me that the third party alarm system might be causing battery drainage issues and that low voltage can be a problem. The battery has not been holding charge well at all lately. It all seems to point to the well documented ABS module issue. Thoughts?
