Customer: Can you advise likely approx. cost of new alternator and battery for 02 Renault Laguna 1.8 please? I have an intermittent battery charge fault warning light so I'm assuming this is the worst case scenario.

If the problem is intermittent as such - then i would strongly advise you have the full charging circuit checked out wiring wise and the connections to both components inc starter etc so a proper check of battery terminals /earth points/alternator wiring what the alternator is producing voltage wise aswell as the auxillary belt that runs the alternator is tensioned properly - and if the battery condition is able to hold a charge..if possible have those checked out first before considering buying parts..battery for these tend to be in the region of £40-£50 / Alternator new £120-£150 but depends on which supplier you use as prices can vary widely across the UK..I do hope this helps
