Hi,

this is an extremely common problem! The key signal is received by the rear screen and passed to a small control unit located underneath the rear spoiler. These control units are contained within a small plastic box which was very poorly sealed from the elements. It is very likely that water has managed to enter the box and damage the control unit. You will have to rear the plastic rear spoiler to gain access to it and confirm this.

Rich.

It may also be worth noting that if the ECU is wet it will require replacement but the box will require thoroughly sealing after fitment to prevent further issues.

Rich.
