Welcome to Just Answer, The camshaft speed sensor on this engine is not actually on the camshaft but a part of the fuel injection pump.

The fault code is usually P0340 and it will cause non start, the only thing you can do is to make sure the plug on the pump is clean and secure, otherwise a reconditioned pump will be needed.
