Hi

Welcome to Just Answer

The sybmol represents an immobiliser problem, either the unit is faulty, or the key is not recognised.

The locksmith has coded the keyfobs, but not the immobiliser transponder, the two items are seperate when it comes to programming, he will need to reprogram them seperately, he will also need the car's security keycard which was supplied from new, if you dont have it you will need to buy a replacement from vauxhall.

The fact that he was able to program the keyfob for the locks indicates that the transponder and pick up are operating, so it is most likely a programming issue.

Hope this helps, if you need more info, please let me know.

Regards

Trev

I have all the codes, how do you programme them in. is it through the radio buttons, or do i need to go to vauxhall, trying to avoid getting the car uplifted and taken to the garage. auto locksmith could not reset immobiliser code.

Hi

The immobiliser needs to be reprogrammed with a diagnostics computer, vauxhall will charge the earth for it, some good locksmiths can do it on site, so you may want to have a ring round first, as this is the cheapest option, otherwise an auto electrical specialist should have the equipment to do it, and may even do it on-site for you, they will be cheaper than vauxhall, most charge around £50 for immobiliser reprogramming.
