These struts are reletavley easy to change, and you do not need any special tools they are just 'pop on' struts but may require a bit of force to pull them off so i would advise being carefull when removing them

The struts are just a push fit and all you will need to do is to pull them off, they are simple to both remove and to fit.

Hi,

you're right they are not visible and effectively just under the roof skin. When I say they can be an absolute nightmare to change I speak from experience and yes there is special tool used to install them.

The boot lid struts can be seen as number 12 in the exploded diagram HERE.
