Thanks for the reply.
There is a common fault with the throttle position sensor but when this fault accures the mil light comes on and the vehicle goes into limp home mode(max 40 mph).
There are a couple of things to start checking.
The glow plug relay burns out on the main terminal, this could be the cause when cold, the glow plugs work for about the first five miniutes of running.
Check the valve timing, timing belt replacement 72k.
Remove the fuel filter top and check for brass fileings in the bottom, if there is a excessive amount then check the low pressure pump.
Check the low pressure and fuel filter, the low pressure pump breaks up and losses pressure, you should have at least 1.8 bar pressure to the fuel filter.
Listen to the low pressure pump that is fitted in front of the fuel tank, if it is buzzing loud then replace.
