Welcome to Just Answer, There are a number of things that can cause this on the "easytronic" transmission .

The "F" means the the transmission ECU (computer) has detected a fault, this can range from the brake light switch (check your stop lights are working) the selector motors or even the mechanical side of the gearbox.

You will need to get your car put on a diagnostic computer and have the fault codes read, many repairs on this system will require programming and only a Vauxhall dealer will have the correct software for this.
