This sounds very much like a faulty CAS - thats a crank shaft sensor.. They do break down when they get hot - and as this sensor triggers the fueling and ignition systems - if it breaks down circuit wise - the car will cut out..
Then it will start and run again when it cools...and so it goes.
Its a common problem with these.. so I would say your symptoms do fit...
As you have the MIL on ( engine management light) its a good idea to have the fault codes read and go from there...but certainly what you have said would look like CAS.
The other problem that occurs with these is breaking down of the ignition coil pack - and that will produce similar results...but the FCR test as above - which should always be done when the MIL comes on...will help there too..
