VerifiedHi, thank for your question. I'm Gavin and I'll help you with your dryer. The black hose connects directly to the pump and the clear hose to the plastic housing that the pump fits in.
From the symptoms you have supplied though it would normally indicate a failed heater or failed thermostat on the heater.
