Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your dishwasher. Lets see if i can help you on this.
When it does this and the light reverts back to the rinse light then its giving an error code.
If you look at the start light it will be flashing.
You need to count the number of flashes from the start light inbetween the pause and depending on the number of flashes this is the error code its giving.
So count the number of flashes from the start light and i can let you know what error code its giving.
