My Kenwood oven is only heating to about 50 degrees.

JA: Hi. What seems to be the problem?
Customer: My Kenwood oven is only heating to about 50 degrees. Sometimes it heats up properly then drops back down to 50 - 70 degrees
JA: What's the make and model of your oven? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: It is a Kenwood range style with gas 5 ring hob and electric grill & oven (oven & grill combined
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: It iis about 5 years old

My wife has just informed me that the temperature in the oven usually sticks at 50 degrees and sometimes climbs to just over 70 , not all the way as she had previously told me (and I told you).Apologies for the misinformation.

It sounds like the thermostat to me but then again the indicator light seems o be working when the grill is on!

It can be one of two things either a faulty thermostat or there is an element problem - I'm trying to get a wiring diagram so I check this out but not an easy thing with a Kenwood. Will come back to you as soon as I can.
