My Whirlpool ADP 4502/5 dishwasher does not start and its green light flashes

Contractor's Assistant: Can you guesstimate how old your Whirlpool is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?

10 years approx. AAA class with the above detail.

Contractor's Assistant: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?

No plan at this stage. First trying to find out what is wrong.

Flashes consistently and continuously. Then nothing.

If the model number is ***** we can probably find out diagnostically what might be wrong with it ...........we need to get it to blink a code so if we can try this and you can let me know where we are at .......

Turn the dishwasher on

Press the rinse cycle button
Turn the dishwasher back off
Hold down the start button while you turn the dishwasher back to on. When the light starts flashing let go of the start button

Press the start button one time and shut the dishwasher door
A test cycle should start
If an error is found the cycle will stop, the flashing error code will then display
