Dishwasher leaking today. Pulled it out and tilted.

Customer Question

Dishwasher leaking today. Pulled it out and tilted. Remaining water came out and checked inlet and outlet pipes. When I turned it on to test where leak was coming from, machine stuck on cycle with first light flashing and no water coming in. Pulled machine out and tilted 45 degrees. Water came out. Returned to position and tried again. Water came into machine and then cycle stopped with same light warning. Now water remaining in base.

Ok so now with the dishwasher turned on is the pump running all the time?

Is the light still flashing?

Also is the base of the dishwasher full of water again?

Regards

I had turned everything off. Will try again now
Expert:  Daniel replied 1 year ago.

That's fine.

Anyway the light flashing you have is the error code for the flood switch in base. So has you have drained it out before and its does the same again then theres something leaking under there.

When you pull it out again you need to remove both side panels and from there you can see the hoses and the motor under there.

Check for any loose hoses as the hoses can wok lose under there and cause a leak.

So check under there and you should see what is causing the leak under there. So check that and see what you find and let me know.

Regards

No water visable when door opened. Noise suggesting machine on but nothing happening. First light flashing.
Expert:  Daniel replied 1 year ago.

The water will be in the base under the dishwasher not inside it so you need to pull it out to access all that im afraid.

Right hand side panel off. What am I looking for?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Water in the base and see electrics?
Expert:  Daniel replied 1 year ago.

First off you may see water in the base. Tip it backwards to drain the water out of there

Then looking under the dishwasher and check all the hoses. Make sure they are still attached to the parts under there.

If it all looks ok then you need to hook the dishwasher up and run it with the panels off very carfully and watch it and if its leaking you will see were the water is coming from under there.

How will that clear the error
Expert:  Daniel replied 1 year ago.

Once you clear the base of the water when you tip it backwards the flood switch will reset itself and the error code will clear itself from there.

Found a leak in right hand side under where filters are. White plastic part, maybe motor. Is this causing the issues and is it fixable.
Expert:  Daniel replied 1 year ago.

If its the motor then that will be the cause.

To be honest the motors on theses can fail for leaking so its not uncommon for these to leak.

And yes they can be replaced but its a bit of a strip down to access this. You need to fully drain the water out and then tip it upside down and remove the bottom base panel.

Then you can remove the motor and swap it over from there.

But they are not cheap. A motor is about £100 roughly on these.
