Ok what you may find here is the carbon brushes in the motor may have worn. As when they do you do get the door light flashing when its closed and locked.
What you need to do is pull the washer out and lean it backwards against a wall and get someone to hold for you.
Then lay down and look under the washer. There you will see the back of the motor. Either side of the motor are the carbon brushes. Take them out and inspect them and see if they have worn.
If so then you need to replace them and then see how it goes. Fingers corssed this will cure the fault and get the washer back up and running again.
