Hi, can I just clarify, I replaced the drum, as the shaft was scored and the original seal was damaged. I replaced the both bearings and the seal with a new drum.

From what happened last time, I agree it appears to be an issue with the seal, I noticed after about seven months the drum started making a bit of a squeaking noise, It sounded like the drum was catching against the seal when you span the drum.

I removed the belt and it still did it? When I took the tub apart the seal appeared not to be damaged? Would the bearings need replacing to? as they are new or are they a matched pair etc?

Do you think I didn't replaced the bearing and seal correctly. I've spend some time an money doing this, is it worth me ordering the part and getting the shop to fit the bearing, seal and drum together,

I'm not sure what the tolerances are. And how precise it has to be fitted I drifted the bearings in as per the Espares youtube video trying to avoid damaging the race etc. Another video I watched they used some studded bar and repair washer to fit the Barings?

There isn't any other form of contamination ie the inlet valve etc that could be causing the problem? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm a bit of an armature?

It's not bra wires etc, as I'm the only person who uses the washer.

I used a White BQ general purpose sealant, would it be better to seal the tub with clear silicon could this be a cause?

No problem, the model is ZWF16581W, Type HI956333 Product. No. ********* When I stripped it down again, about six weeks ago I cleaned the inner tub please see attached photos after the drum and tub were stripped down the second time. I have tried to attach them hopefully you can see the condition, when they were dissembled? I tried gave the bearings a tap to make sure they were seated, I tried to remove the seal but it was pretty fast and started to deform slightly? I tapped it back with some wood and a hammer, and tapping well down with a rubber mallet? When I assembled it all the squeaking had stopped. and has not reappeared. I washed 6 shirts but only one appears to have any stains but it's 5 or 6 spots of different sizes? I washed it again at 90 degrees but nothing came out, I've tried some lemon juice and salt, this was on the internet, and the stains look like they are dissolving. After reassembling I ran it on a 90 degree services wash. Let me know if you don't get the pictures?

Yes, sorry about the serial number issue, told you I was an amateur? When I looked at the ZWF I thought it was strange? That's my mothers? Unfortunately my smart phone is smarter than the user? The model number is ***** FD 8308 609772 You comments about the seal make a lot of sense can you advise what grade of emery paper you use or could you use wet and dry I don't want to score the shaft and make things worse? I guess it's worth a last punt? How much do I owe you for your time? Kind regards Simon

Hi, I stripped it all down the seal had been dammaged and the bearing had started to rust and the inside of the seal had traces of rust in it?, I've purchase a replacement seal and bearing kit. On inspecting the shaft I've seen to hairline scores on the section that the seal fits on? You said to clean the shaft with emery or wet an dry? I have some 1200 grade wet and dry this is the finest I can by? Do I have to flaten out any inperfections? Is the shaft stanless or plated as the shaft is partialy exposed in the tub? I don't want to damage any platting etc? I don't wont to damage the shaft?

So the scores should be OK?
