Have a Neff slim integrated dishwasher, model S5943X2GB/31.

When I took it off the mains pipe, there is a small green mesh filter, this was ok. Below that there is a pink mesh filter. Seems to be ok also. I took the plastic casing off the valve and it's a sealed unit. Looks like a diecast box with no lid on it, with the mains cable going in, but totally watertight, like a potting compound was used to make it water tight. I'm guessing it's not user serviceable and would need to be replaced if it is at fault.

I have gotten the machine to run since this morning, by manually filling, and "slamming" the door shut. Perhaps the switch in the door is also acting up! It's making a "whining sound" now, like the water blades spinning around but perhaps no water.

I'll no more once I strip down again tomorrow and investigate voltage to the water inlet valve, but as I suspect, it is getting a voltage, but who knows if it's opening the valve!?

Ok, so I stripped the machine down again, drained it and disconnected the water inlet where it comes into the machine. I started a programme with this pointing into a basin to see if (and how much) water was coming through. I measured it to be about 1 litre every 25 seconds. Is this too slow for the machine to fill up? The water pressure before the inlet valve is very good so it's only after the valve the flow is reduced. Is this a correct flow rate (1 litre per 25 secs)?

No, it still doesn't fill... The tank on the side fills ok but then the whole thing just stops really, or takes an eternity to do a cycle. Any other thoughts? I've removed the pressure chamber mechanism and checked all the switches for continuity. All seem to be ok, and the chamber fills with water and activates the switch with the "blue" arm when fill comes up to adequate level.

Seems that way... Let me just try again now and revert in a few minutes.

Ok, 20 minutes in and the tank on the side is only half full. Seems to be taking forever. Surely it shouldn't take this long. Obviously I can't see if the "blue" levered switch is activating as the water has to reach the top of the tank before it trickles back down the manifold into the chamber where the switch is located. If this isn't a normal fill time, it's leading me to believe that the inlet valve is at fault as it's taking so long to fill that tank. I only ran about 2 litres of water last night with the hose disconnected, just to get a rough rate of flow (1 litre per 25 secs or so) so perhaps the inlet valve isn't working as it should?

Let's price it up and see if it's worthwhile... can buy a new machine for €250 with 2 year warranty!!

One last thing you may be able to find out for me. That stop valve / water inlet valve, I'm having trouble finding a data sheet or info on the exit flow rate. It seems (when disconnected from machine) to slow the high pressure down to about 2 litres a minute (as per my last messages) but when connected to the manifold / tank takes ages to fill. Can you find out how much should flow when it's working correctly, or advise of other issues (such as a blocked valve somewhere) causing the fill rate to be slower when the hose is connected to the machine? Like I said, I don;t wanna spend a whole lot more money if that's not the part to blame.

Finally, what voltage should be on this when it's "open". Perhaps it's a power issue?

Think I've fixed the problem with some limescale remover and a few hours soaking. I stripped down the inlet valve and placed in a bowl with limescale remover and left for a while. put it all back together and it seems to be working again (for a while at least)
