Have a Hotpoint WDL540G(UK)C that...

Have a Hotpoint WDL540G(UK)C that stopped without completing washer cycle. All bottom row of lights flashing and Spin and Door lock lights on permanently. Managed to empty machine of clothes and water, now only the spin light remains on.

It was the door lock indication which No.1

Tried running a short wash program but it stopped again with out spinning.

Hiya,
OK, sorry, I got the impression from your original post that 2 lights were on.

The bottom light, number 1, indicates a failure on the main control board of the motor circuit.

Check the wiring to the motor and to the main board.
(the main board is bottom left when viewed from the rear).

See if there's any damage to the wiring and see if there's any obvious damage on the control board.

Hi,

Could not see any damage to motor wiring and no obvious damage on main control board. Tried recon board from emw today but still same problem. just tried spin only program, machine went through motions but stopped a few mins into cycle leaving right hand lights No.1 (Door lock), No.3 (Dry) and No.4 (Spin) all continously on.

Hiya,
It's a washer/dryer?
If it is, the machine is reporting a fault in the dryer side.

Check the wiring to the NTC on the dryer heater box.

Hi,

It Is a washer dryer, but dryer never used.

Can not see any problem with wiring to NTC.

It doesn't matter if it's never been used.
The board is reporting a dryer circuit fault.

Check the wiring at the board.
Try the old board and see if it does the same now
