Hi, I have an Indesit washing...

Hi,

I have an Indesit washing machine and I think there may be a problem with the control board but I just want some confirmation on it. The machine will run a wash cycle for each different wash type (cotton, coloured cotton etc) but it wont transition onto the rinse, spin and drain cycles. These cycles work independently but the transition between the three or four cycles of the full wash wont work. Can anybody confirm that it is a problem with the control board or what should I do.

Do you get any flashing lights when it's working?

If you select the hot wash, does it actually heat the water?

If you select rinse, does it go all the way through the rinses and spin to the end?

Thanks for that,

1. Yeah we get flashing lights when its working and it continues to wash on wash cycle

2. We recently replaced the heating element and sensor but I dont think it is heating it.

3.No we have to select rinse first. Then select spin and then select drain individually. The spin cycle does not follow the rinse cycle automatically.

OK, which lights are flashing?
It may be that it's flashing an error code.

Do you get the flashing lights after rinse? drain?

it only flashes on the 3 hr wash cycle -it keeps washing over and over have to stop it and move the dial to rinse and then drain -i get no flashing lights on these cycles.

Hiya,
Thanks for that.

If it's the 3h light flashing, it's not an error code.

As there's no error code it does strongly suggest the board is at fault.

If it is, you would need to have a new board fitted and then programmed to the appliance. (requires special equipment).

You could send the board to www.emwelec.co.uk
If it's faulty, they'll repair it for you and in some cases can tell what caused the fault.
If it's not faulty, they do charge a handling fee and postage.

The alternative, is to have Indesit come in on one of their fixed price repair plans.
They start around £120 and all include parts and labour.

If it were a heating circuit fault, the rinse cycle would still work through to the end.
