The most likely cause of the tripping, and the fault you now have, is the door lock has failed.
If the door doesn't lock, the machine won't do anything.
.
Unplug the appliance.
Take the door lock out and see if there's obvious damage to it or the wiring.
.
If there is, you'll need a new door lock and, unfortunately, you may need a control board too.
On a lot of occasions the board suffers damage when the door lock fails.
.
Check the door seal too, see if there's a hole in the door seal.
If there is, this is the initial cause of the problem.
.
Obviously, if you can't do the work yourself, you'll need to get someone in to do it for you.
