I have just bought a whirlpool American fridge freezer second…

Ok if the fridge is fine then the compressor will be running as the fridge gets its cooling from the freezer section. As the evaporator gets cold and the fan in there blows the cold air into the fridge section.

So what you need to do is take the back panel off inside the freezer and remove the bottom baskets.

From there you will see the evaporator. Check to see if theres an even layer or frost on there.

.

But you may find this is a system fault. As its not able to get fully cold. Take the back panel off and see if the compressor is hot to touch.

Also feel the center post on the front between the doors and see if this is hot aswell.

It wont be a fault on the freezer side. As the freezer should get a lot colder then the temperature inside the garage so that wont cause the fault here.

But you may find this is a system fault. Possibly a blockage in the evaporator. As with moving it a bit of oil could have got from the compressor into the evaporator and this can block it up stopping it from getting fully cold.

.

If this is the case then a fridge engineer will need to fix it as it will need a good vacuum to suck the gas and moister out from there and then regas it and see if this cures it.
