Does the water valve on a washing machinemodel no AWO/D 4305

This answer was rated:

Does the water valve on a washing machine model no AWO/D 4305 give trouble? When i switch on the machine the water does not flow

through the valve and the filter is clean! Peter Athlone Ireland

The machine is about 6 years old.

Drcool :

Hello, Yes it does. The water valve can be a source of trouble. You would need a resistance meter to verify this. Remove the wires connected to the water valve and use the resistance meter to measure the resistance of the coil on the valve. It should read about 400 ohms. If there is no resistance at all,or resistance of a very high value, this is an indication of a bad solenoid valve.

Drcool :

But if there is resistance, then the next thing to check is , if there is power going to the solenoid valve as you turn the unit on. if there is no power, then there are other defective parts that needs to be check first before you replace the water solenoid valve.

thank you for your help, i will check this out.
