The pump would be a good bet. Sitting for 5 years is so not good for these appliances.
Its not an overly hard job, most people could do it with basic tools. I would be more concerned about spending money on it to make the repairs. Your looking around $125 to $200 depending on the parts required. You can buy a new washer for not much more than that.
