I have a AEG Santo...

I have a AEG Santo C7 18 41-4i Intergrated Fridge Freezer purchased on the 11/07/2005.
The fridge and freezer have comletely stopped working, only the light in the fridge is working. Is it worth reparing or should I just replace the the appliance.

Hiya,

Can you post the product number (PNC) of the appliance please?

It's on a label in the fridge and begins with 9.

Prefix the number with A so it's not crossed out when posted.

eg. A914419941 00

At the bottom rear of the appliance is the compressor, a black pot shaped item.

You'll need to take the appliance out to check if this is running.

If it is running, is it very hot?

Unfortunatley the appliance in the housing is to heavy for me to pull out to check if the compressor is running hot.

Hiya,

sorry, if you are unable to carry out the checks I'm afraid you'll need to get someone in to diagnose the fault for you

Unfortunately, whatever number you tried posting, it was crossed out.

Post the pnc as I showed and I'll see if there's any other checks that might help.

Do you hear the compressor running (it's bottom rear so you need to listen at the bottom).?

OK, thanks for that.

If the compressor is running, I'm afraid it's going to be a system fault.

This isn't a diy repair.

You'll need to get a refrigeration engineer in to check it out and see if it's repairable.

If the appliance is 5 or more years old, I'd suggest using the money you might spend on repairs against the cost of a new machine.
