Hi I have an Electrolux...

Hi I have an Electrolux EW 1200i washer/dryer & it will not perform the spin cycle with clothes in the drum. I have tried it without a load & it works fine. I've just removed the back to check things out & there is no obvious damage to the drum stabilisers/support, everything looks fine. Could it be the drive belt needs renewing or am I barking up the wrong tree?
The machine is draining fine btw

Try this and let me know what happens.

Set the washer going on a spin on its own empty and when the drum is turning listen to it and see iof theres a crackling noise from the motor.

Ok so if you put a full load in will the drum turn at all?

Yes the drum turns with a full load on washing but when it reaches spin cycle it doesn't spin - it's as if it attempts to start the spin but just clicks out & just turns very slowly a couple of times like it does during the rinse cycle, if that makes sense.

I know what you mean.

This is going to be a timer problem. Ive seen this fault loads of times over the years and its always the timer.

The washer will try to pick up into a spin and die down. It will do this 3 times and then the timer will click off.

You will need to replace the timer on this to cure the fault im afraid.

Yes thats if. With the top off the washer you will see it on the front behind the control knob.
