Tumble dryer hotpoint aquarius CDT00 - is not heating up - is there an obvious problem - eg thermostat / heating element that can be fixed easily and quickly

Ok looking at the thermostats on the top the one on the left is more likely to be the problem.

If you have a multimeter you can test it for contonuity. If faulty then look on the thermostat in the middle if theres a small hole there get a pin and poke in in there and push it down. You will feel it click. If it does this then you have just reset it.

If you dont have a multimeter then to check take it off and give it a shake. You should hear it rattle if its ok. If no rattle then its faulty.

If there isnt a pin in the middle then take the thermostat off and then you need to throw the thermostat down onto a hard floor silver side down. So the bottom of the thermostat hits the floor. This will reset it aswell. Give it a shake and if it rattles then its reset.

Refit the thermostat and see how it goes from there.

Let me know what happens.
