hi the door on my aquarius hotpoint washer dryer will not open after a wash and dry it still has the clothes inside i tried unpluging it and leaving for a few hours model is wd 1200 any help much appreciated derek

hi the no is wd4200g XXXXXXXXX this is on the back of machine ,the door handle looks and feels fine

Hiya,

OK, if the handle is fine and it wouldn't open when the machine was unplugged, it would suggest a fault with the lock.

Unplug the appliance.

Wait 10 minutes.

Give the handle and front panel adjacent a few good thumps.

Don't dent the panel.

Then, try opening the door.

Does it open?

Hiya,

OK, thanks for that.

Just in case it's a broken handle, you'll need a length of garden tying wire or something similar.

Feed it into the gap around the door.

Work it round so you end up with both ends opposite the handle.

Pull sideways on both ends and pull the door open with your other hand.

Let me know if it open.
