6 years old The anti flood...

AEG Favorit 44070 Vi PNC 911 235 209 01 S-no 52366111 6 years old
The anti flood switch appears to have been activated.
End of wash cycle appears to have been reached but contents only partially dried.
Tried alternative programs but the 3 short warning tones repeatedly sounded and the machine did not commence an alternative wash.
Anti flood switch was replaced by technician. Worked satisfactorily for 4 washes then fault re-appeared.
Powered off for 3 days- Switched on and it completed a wash cycle but produced the continuous 3 warning tones and buzzing (probably pumping) sound. Powering off and on and selecting different programs did not clear the warning sounds/light.
Please advise what needs to be corrected.

Hiya,

You have either a leak or the water is foaming up inside and spilling into the base.

Have you recently changed detergent/tablets?

Are you using all in 1 tablets?

Are you using rinse aid in the machine?

Have not changed tablets
Using W5 dishwasher tablets - all in one not specified on box - tabs also recomend using rinse aid and salt
Yes rinse aid is being used.-'Finish professional'
2 or 3 weeks ago I read somewhere that running the machine empty with a small ammount of washing-up liquid would help keep the filters clean
This was tried and the machine filled with bubbles and had to be manually scooped out.
I cannot remember whether this was before or after the machine malfunctioned for the first time. But the machine did function correctly for a minimum of 3 washes after this incident.

Hiya,

OK, the washing up liquid will cause it to overfoam and spill.

Using all in 1 tablets and rinse aid means you are double dosing with rinse aid.

This too can cause an overfoam.

Water is spilling or leaking into the base.

You need to take the machine out.

Take the side panels off.

Watch it working and see if you can find the source of the water.

It has to be done with it full for a wash, with the tablet and rinse aid.

Your engineer has missed something when he tested it.

As soon as you see any water come down the tube to the anti flood device, or in the base of the appliance, check inside to see if it's foamed up.

If it has, this is why your machine is failing.

I will give this a try but as the program does not really start ( buzzing sound and flashing lights only) It is difficult to see how water will be moving at all. Perhaps all will be revealed in examination.

Hiya,

If it's giving the 3 flashes code, you first of all need to remove the water from the base.

When you take the sides off, machine unplugged, remove the water in the base.

Ensure the anti flood device in the base resets.

Then, plug it in and try it.

Watch it and see where it's leaking from.
