my whirlpool dishwasher adp 7966/3...

my whirlpool dishwasher adp 7966/3 wont do anything. the start button is flashing on and off.Only normal programme lights up. When start button is pressed the machine drains for about 10 seconds and then stops

Hiya,

Press and hold the start button till the start light goes out.

Select a new programme.

Start the dishwasher running.

When it goes wrong, count the flashes between pauses from the start light and let me know how many.

i have counted the flashes between pauses and it is 2.

Hiya,

2 flashes indicates a leak.

Unplug the appliance.

Take the panel below the door off.

Be careful as the metal work on the appliance is razor sharp.

Once off, look into the base and check to see if there is water there.

hi we have unplugged it. taken small panel from bottom front but behind it is a metal plate that is riveted on. but you were correct about a leak because when we moved it water went onto the floor.

Hiya,

The plate should be held by 4 torx screws.

The metal panel is shown on the diagrams as a spare parts so does come off.

Hello again,
At the moment I haven't got anything to take off the 4 torx screws off, but I shall tomorrow evening.
Are you expecting to see a split or detatched pipe ?

Hiya,

You'll need to drain the base and then run the machine.

I think you may find a small hose to the circulation pump has split.

Will I be able to access the circulation pump if I remove this panel, and if so is the required part easily obtainable ?

Not from the front.

You need to find the source of the leak first.

The one I've mentioned is common but may not be what is wrong with your machine.

You take the base off.
