Inspect the door latch to see if it is loose.
Then lean on the door to press it closed, while you press the start button, in order to see if the door latch may be loose.If the door switch is not sending the closed signal to the brain, the machine can not start.
You say you unplugged the washer and then re-started the unit and it still did not start.
Then the first thing that to be tested after this is to check the door switch with an ohm meter for proper resistance. This is the only way to check if the door switch is sending the signal to the control board.You will need an OHM meter and the knowledge to use it.
Otherwise, Unfortunately you will be in need of a hands on tech on location to do the testing.
