My Zanussi washer dryer ZWD 12270W purchased March 2008 only used about 15 times has a fault. How do I tell if the drain pump runs?The start button flashes after about 10 secs then nothing - water doesn't come in or go out.Answer Summary
Turn the dial to any cycle apart from the first on the right and let it lit up. Regards ***** ***** hold both buttons in for a few seconds?If so turn the dial to spin cycle and try it again as this should bring up an error code on the display screen.

Ok lets see what the error code is.
Turn the dial to any cycle apart from the first on the right and let it lit up.
Then press and hold the start button and the button to the left of it.
Keep them held in and after a few seconds an error code will come up E??
Let me know the code.

Ok the humming noise will be the drain pump.
Take the filter out again and look at the back were the filter goes and you will see the pump impeller X shape. Make sure theres nothing jammed up in there. Then make sure the impeller turns ok. It should ping round in stages.
Then once its clear refit the filter and retry the washer and see how it goes from there.
