What I need to know is.....Why is my Fridge not cold and my freezer is ok....The Milk in the fridge doesn't last 2 days. It makes a noise as if it is working but that might be the freezer...Please assistAnswer Summary
How old is your hotpoint Fridge Freezer please?FORRY : I asked the question as many of these appliances have had this problem whilst still under the gaurantee. A short term fix (lasts about 4 months before having to repeat) is to remove interior back panel and use hair dryer to melt away the build up of ice. I asked the question as many of these appliances have had this problem whilst still under the gaurantee. Basically the fault is a build up of ice that stops the air/fan circulation. The problem often lies with the defrost element. Remedy is to replace, but often when this fault occurs the defrost element is still working. Hotpoint engineers move the heater further down as a fix. You may be able to get this done under warranty, good luck there! A short term fix (lasts about 4 months before having to repeat) is to remove interior back panel and use hair dryer to melt away the build up of ice. The ice will build up again and you will have to keep on defrosting on a 4 month cycle. This problem is very common with many of these appliances and I am surely left wondering that hotpoint have not got these appliances right. Hope this information answers your question. Yes , That is correct. There will be ice build up somewhere or the defrost element / fan has failed. I can show you tens of write-ups about this F/F and all are defrost element problems due to the element being set to far up and not being in a position to do the job it was designed(Badly) to do.
