Yes, but only if you take the appliance apart.

It's fitted from the outside of the sump.

You have to clean it out in situ.

OK, there is always some water left in the sump.

It's a bit like the u bend in the sink, it stops smells coming back up the drain hose.

No, no chemicals.

If you use them and you then have to remove the pressure switch you are working in hazardous chemicals.

Just pick out any large parts of debris with tweezers.

Then pour in the hot water to try and clear any fatty deposits.

Do you have a circular black grid or do you just have a small hole in the sump?

If it's the small hole in the sump you have a later model with a different pressure switch.

Yes, clean it again.

You need to try it 2 or 3 times.

If it still doesn't work, you need to order a new pressure switch and fit it to try and cure the problem.

There are 3 items involved.

The switch, the wiring and the main control board.

To change the switch, unplug the appliance.

Take off the panel below the door.

Be careful as the exposed metal is razor sharp.

The pressure switch is fitted into the side of the sump.

Unplug it.

Rotate it anti clockwise through 90 degrees.

Pull it out.

Take care not to take the hose off the heater tube.

Fit the new one.

Plug it in again (make sure the plug didn't get damp).

Plug the machine in and try it again.
