Hi my Hoover Nextra 6 (HNL7146) is stopping mid cycle and the start light and delay start light are flashing 3 times every minute or so and the door will not open and door locked light remains illuminated. Thanks for the quick reply, I am running the Auto Test Sequence which is built into the machine, 1.Turn the Knob of the Program's Selector 2 steps in clockwise sense, 3.As soon as the LED of the 1st Option's Button comes up lighted, release the button, 4.All LEDs of Control Panel arelighted together, 5.Once the Auto-test is correctly initialized, the two rows of theLEDs of Residual Time and of the Option's Buttons start flashing alternatively.

The machine seems to be draining fine, still get quite a bit of water from the filter if I remove it once the cycle has stopped due to error, but the drum looks completely empty. I tried unplugging the machine overnight last night but on running the diagnostic check the same fault '3 flashes' occured.

Thanks for the quick reply, I am running the Auto Test Sequence which is built into the machine, 1. Push and hold the 1st Option's Button from left, 2. Turn the Knob of the Program's Selector 2 steps in clockwise sense, 3. As soon as the LED of the 1st Option's Button comes up lighted, release the button, 4. All LEDs of Control Panel are
lighted together, 5. After 3 seconds and within 5 seconds, push again the Option's
Button n. 1, 6. Once the Auto-test is correctly initialized, the two rows of the
LEDs of Residual Time and of the Option's Buttons start flashing alternatively. Fro this
moment onward, the Auto-test Checking Routine sequence is carried out automatically,
as it's next described.
I got these intructions from just answers.com in the form of a pdf form (http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/Techdesk/2009-01-22_115612_hoover_test2.pdf)

The drum itself looks to be completely drained but it still sounds like its trying to drain........if that makes sense. I have ruled out a blockage under the sink as the same error occurs when draining directly into a bucket.

Hiya,

OK, thanks for that.

If the appliance has fully drained (except for the little that remains in the trap) it would suggest a problem with the pressure switch.

Isolate the power to the appliance and take the top and rear covers off.

At the bottom rear should be a pressure chamber with a thin tube attached to it.

This tube goes up to the pressure switch.

Clean out the pressure chamber, it may be on the rear of the tub but more likely is in the sump to drain pump hose.

Once thoroughly cleaned out, try the machine again.

If it's still the same, it would suggest the pressure switch is sticking and may be the cause of the problem.

You would need to begin replacing parts, starting with the pressure switch.
