I have an Indesit W1XXE127 front load 1200 spin washing machine. During the middle of a wash an error message F-05 came up and I had to turn it off to clear it, but it kept coming up during the cycle. What could be the problem?

Initially it stopped full of water. I had to move it onto drain before I could do anything.

Yes it did. I then tried to spin but it didn't seem to want to do anything so switched it off and left it for about 15 mins then turned it on and it did spin and there was no error message when it stopped.

Hiya,

OK, thanks for that.

F05 indicates a blocked pump or pressure switch stuck on full.

(The switch would be stuck on full if it's full of water).

The strange thing is it emptied when you turned it to spin.

Try the machine again and see if it refuses to empty again.

Ok, i'll try and run another wash and see what happens. I will then get my husband to check that the pump isn't blocked when he gets home from work. Thank you for your assistance.

Hiya,

Thanks for that.

If it goes wrong, you've got the right idea, check for a blockage somewhere.

If the machine has a filter, that's the first to check, if no filter then you need to take the pump out and check the hoses too.

Apologies for the feedback, I thought I could log in later and amend it. I have tried another wash and it still stops before it drains and spins although it does drain and spin separately. Might be a problem with that particular setting.

Hiya,

You can always email customer services about the feedback.

Just tell them you misunderstood and they'll remove both yours and mine.

It's a very strange fault that I've not come across before.

If you try a different programme, does it still do this?

When it should empty, just before the F05 comes up, do you hear any strange noise or a hum from the pump area?

I'm now running another wash so will find out and get back to you, but probably won't be until tomorrow.

Good morning.

Think we have solved the problem. My partner turned the machine off at the plug, opened up the pump at the front of the machine and found a couple of my daughters stickers attached to it. We took them off, turned the machine back on and ran another wash on the same setting and all seems well as I have done another load this morning and no error message.
