it seems to have stopped...

We have a Bosch Silver edition Dishwasher ( Hydro Sensor ) it seems to have stopped cleaning pots thoroughly. My wife is very fussy on how she stacks it,ie way better than me,which can only be a good thing, anyway, being a plumber by trade ,i`ve carefully cleaned all visible strainers and filters. the only thing i may have done wrong is to make an outside hole on the base propeller slightly larger this was to get some food / scale out which was stuck fast. I`d appreciate any feedback as I`m being constantly pecked at pres. Do hope you can help.

Hiya,

Can you post the E-Nr number of the appliance please?

It's normally etched across the top of the door.

Is it the top or the bottom basket not being cleaned properly?

Set the machine going and when it's washing, open the door.

Set the spray arms at a front to rear position and close the door again.

Let it wash for a while then quickly open the door and check that water is coming through the arms and that the arms have moved.

Let me know what you find.

Carried out test. Bottom prop is not spinning, note there is no scale or blockages in this prop.

The E Nr is SGS5358GB/17

OK, thanks for that.

Was there water being sprayed out of the bottom arm?

Check the arm along it's length to see if it's split.

Squeeze it to see if it opens.

Not split.Some water coming out but only small amount.Tried also blocking a hole to try and gain more pressure ,but no joy.

Thanks for that.

Take the bottom spray arm off and look down the supply pipe.

Is there a disc across the pipe?

Does your machine have a 1/2 load button?

I've had a look at the diagram for your appliance and it doesn't show an alternating valve or 1/2 load function but the fault you have is classic symptom of an alternating valve failure.

Hiya,

OK, if there is no disc there must be something trapped in the feed pipe to the bottom spray arm.

Take the bottom arm off and run it on a wash.

Set the top arm front to back again

See if the top arm rotates.

You should hear the water coming out of the bottom feed pipe.
