Hi, my Hotpoint Aquarius W326 1200spin washing machine was mid-cycle when my electricity went off. Will let you know how goes - am hoping an easy litle blockage!Could this mean that the loss of electricity had nothing to do with it?Answer Summary

No problem.
The flashing lights indicate the pressure switch is stuck on full.
As it's not emptying the water, this would make sense.
You have a blockage either in the drain hose, sump hose or pump.
First, check the drain hose for a blockage where it joins the house drains.
Take the hose off and check both the hose and the connection.
If they are both ok, it's a bit of a drag to empty the machine but you'll need to do it manually.
Unplug the appliance and take the plastic cover below the front panel off.
There you will find the filter.
Put a towel and shallow dish in front of the filter and slacken it a little to drain the water.
Tighten it when you need to empty the dish.
Once the water is emptied out of the appliance, unscrew the filter and pull it out.
Clear out any debris you find in there.
Ensure nothing remains to jam the pump.
Turn the pump impellor manually to ensure it's not jammed.
Refit the filter and try the machine again.
