Hi, My whirlpool awm 219 has finished the wash but the door will not open, what can I do please. The handle feels normal, just doesn't want to release.Answer Summary

OK, thanks for that.
If it won't unlock when it's unplugged it's likely the bimetal strip inside the lock has jammed.
Unplug the appliance and take the top off.
Reach inside and find the door lock.
Work it side to side, up and down to get it off of it's screws with minimal damage.
Whilst doing this, keep trying to open the door regularly.
Once the lock is off of it's screws, lift it off of the latch.
The alternative to this is to simply lever the door open, breaking the door latch.
Once open, you need to fit a new door lock and if the latch is damaged, a new door handle assembly.
