If it's filling with water when you set it to spin it would suggest either the knob has broken or the programmer is defective.
Take the knob off and check that it's not broken and slipped round.
As to the conditioner, take the dispenser drawer out and look into the roof of the dispenser. If clogged, scrub it and then use garden wire to poke the holes clear.
If you post the serial number of the appliance I'll be able to tell the age of it better and determine which programmer may be required.
Prefix the number with A to prevent it being crossed out when posted.
Have a look at the knob, let me know what you find.
