The programs on my Zanussi 1200 seem to have stopped working.

The programs on my Zanussi 1200 seem to have stopped working. I press start on a spin program and the water in it drains away, theres a brief pause then it refills just level with the door. Then it stops and nothing happens and there is no flashing 'end' light to indicate a fault code, any ideas?

Can you post the product number please. Its on the inside of the door and starts with an 9. And if you could prefix it with an A to stop it getting crossed out.

SorryI can't as the door is shut with a load in and won't open. Interestingly every few minutes it refills with water but still won't start up.

Ok try this turn the selector to any programme

then press and hold the start/pause button and the 1 next to it

keep them held in then the end light and start/pause light will start to flash.

Count the flashes of each of them inbetween the pause and let me know start with the end light first. But you need to keep the buttons pressed in while you do this

I did this, started up again while holding the start/pause buton and the one next to it. It emptied then filled during this cycle the start light and the washing light both stay illuminated but the end light does not light. Nothing flashes.

Ok try this one.

Turn the selector knob off.

press and hold the start/pause and the 1 next to it

keep them held in and turn knob 1 position clockwise

keep buttons pressed in till the lights start to flash then release.

then turn the knob clockwise 9 positions.

Now the end light and start light should be flashing count the flashes inbetween the pause and let me know.

Then turn the knob off then on then back off again

Both 'Start/Pause' and 'End' flash twice, then 'End' flashes three more times then the sequence repeats

Ok thanks for that that code means E52 what that means is a motor fault.

What you need at do is remove the half of the cabinet. To do this remove the lid then on back half of cabinet is 2 screws either side remove these.

Then on back at bottom is more screws and on the side at bottom behind the cap is another screw remove these the the back half comes of .

From there remove the motor and check the brushes on the back if worn replace.

If they are fine then it could either be the motor at fault or the control board.

But as you say you set it to spin and it fills up this sounds like the control board is at fault as it shouldnt be filling on spin.but the control boards are expensive for these machines.

What you might be best doing is phoneing domestic and genaral for a quote for 12 months warrenty +repaire you can get the number from here.
